The Week of Oct. 17, 2011

Libya was declared a “liberated” country, after their leader Moammer Gadhafi died on Oct. 20, 2011.  Apparently he died from a unshot to the head or from being captured and beat; different sources confirm different reasons. One possibility states that when he was found, he was found alive hiding in the drainpipes from the rebels.

The Libyan people seem to be pleased with his death; saying they were finally free while cheering in the streets. Gadhalfi’s body is still on display for the public to view.Gadalfi reigned from 1969 to 2011 and many of his people seemed to dislike him as a Head Of State. For a number of different reasons he was ruled as a tyrant and has been facing threat for quite some time. This is time for a new era for the Libyan people.

Libyan people have a chance to experience democracy and  free elections with in two years. They have a plan set to where hopefully within the next two years, they will have a leader whom they voted for and a stable environment. I do not want to say that it is a good thing that anyone lost their life, in any event it is a sad thing, but the positive effects that will come from this will only benefit the people of Libya
